Assessments Available:

One of the most important things I help people do is reveal the hidden portions of the ice berg underlying human behavior. You can't address things that are unseen or unnamed.

I use a variety of assessment approaches. The first form is customized assessments developed for a specific client and conducted with the methodology that best matches the client's culture and people. The second form is standardized assessments.

The custom approaches may include written or email surveys, one-on-one interviews, focus groups of any stakeholder group, or a form of Open Space. (described below) I draw upon my experience as head of a market research department for a major corporation for six years to develop these. I team up with appropriate other providers if necessary.

I am one of a small number of people in the Midwest who is certified in the use of standardized assessments developed by the National Values Center including the Values Assessment and the Change State Indicator. These are available in a text form and an on-line form. This information has application across all aspects of today's world, whether for Leadership Development; Management Development; Organization Design and Alignment; HR Management; Training; Communications or Personal Development.

The Values Assessment measures the presence of any of the 8VMEME Levels active in an individual, group or organization. These VMEMES are the core intelligences that shape human thinking as in why and how we think rather than what we think. They represent the decision systems that reside deep within individuals that frame how they see the world. They underlie all the issues of complexity that we face on a daily basis and are the doorway to deep understanding and fundamental adaptability and change.

The Change State Indicator provides information about an individual's or organization's readiness and openness to change. It identifies beliefs about change and the emotional context of the change. This information influences the appropriate timing and tactics for change.

"If we can get the value systems - the units of personal & cultural information that clone themselves across the ecologies of minds - set right, then many surface-level problems can be more easily resolved. We can do better by going deeper, much deeper."
Beck 1996
